One of our tactics in the IPNA Strategic Plan is to develop a process whereby IPNA members can become members of an IPNA Committees. Following the formation of several new committees at the Congress in Venice, we are happy to make this opportunity available to you. Please see the link below for the list of the committees.
General requirements:
- Active Member of IPNA
- Health professional with Pediatric Nephrology as your focus
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to commit effort to achieve committee goals
- Term for each Committee position is 3 years, assessed annually based on participation, cooperation and communication.

The Special Projects Committee consists of the several subcommitttees. Please see the list and requirements for the each subcommittee below.
1. Specific Priorities in Low Resource Countries Committee
- Task
- To define the major needs and barriers for the care of children with renal diseases in low-income countries around the world and develop strategies to improve the pediatric nephrology services in these regions
- Volunteer members desired qualities
- Open minded and positive attitudes towards differences in culture and health care practices
- Previous experience in global health providing clinical care or teaching is desirable, but not required

2. AKI and 0by25 Committee
- Task
- The Committee’s responsibility is to call for globally applicable strategies that permit timely diagnosis and treatment of AKI for patients with potentially reversible diseases.

- Expertise in AKI is desirable, but not required

3. World Kidney Day Committee
- Task
- Once a year, at the time of the World Kidney Day (March 12th), IPNA offers a $5,000 funding to a pediatric nephrology team from a developing country
- The committee evaluates all projects in order to select the best one

- Special interest in health care services for children with kidney disease in low resource areas

The mission of the PEC is to provide high quality IPNA sponsored pediatric nephrology education for pediatric nephrologists, pediatric nephrology trainees and physicians who care for children with kidney disorders.
The 4 main priorities of the PEC are:
1) Sponsoring (approving and funding) IPNA Teaching Courses that provide high value education about pediatric nephrology topics for physicians, trainees and allied health professionals in less developed areas of the world
2) Developing and implement advanced Pediatric Nephrology Master Classes for pediatric nephrology trainees and pediatric nephrologists
3) Developing and promoting IPNA Webinars devoted to Clinical Practice/Guidelines and aligning these with Webinars from ASPN and ERKNET
4) Contributing to the educational plan and innovative programs at 2022 IPNA Congress in Calgary
The PEC operates through online evaluations of proposed teaching activities, regular conference calls and in person meetings (with call in options) at regularly scheduled IPNA meetings.

IPNA has an established fellowship program to provide pediatricians who work far from a pediatric nephrology training center with training in order to disseminate knowledge of pediatric nephrology to different regions around the world.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Training Center is highly desirable, but not required
- Teaching experience is highly desirable, but not required
- Current position at a Medical Faculty or Academic Hospital, required

The aim of this program is to link developing pediatric renal units in less well resourced regions (EMERGING CENTRE) to experienced pediatric renal units in well resourced regions (SUPPORTING CENTRE) on a 1 to 1 basis.
- Previous experience either as an IPNA/ISN Fellow in a developing centre or experience mentoring a developing centre is desirable but not required.

The task of the committee is to provide a platform in as many languages as possible, for the patients and their caregivers, with a source of reliable and trustworthy information about various pediatric renal disorders, that is easy to understand and apply. This is intended to improve disease-specific knowledge and self-management skills, improved self-esteem and reduce illness-related anxiety or mortality.
Volunteer members desired qualities
Access to relevant resourcese in various regional languages, previous clinical experience with patients with various pediatric renal disorders and, preferably, multilingual skills.

The mission of the BPS is to create and distribute IPNA endorsed Clinical Practice Recommendations (CPRs) and Standard of Care for the management of children with kidney diseases for physicians, patients and their families.
The 4 main priorities of the BPS are:
1) Creating CPRs and define Standard of Care for important kidney diseases by IPNA expert groups involving pediatric nephrologists from all IPNA regional societies, other subspecialities involved in the management of particular diseases, and patient representatives.
2) Developing and promoting IPNA Webinars devoted to Clinical Practice/Guidelines and aligning these with Webinars from ASPN, ESPN, ERKNET, and ISN.
3) Distribute CPRs and Standard of care by workshops, and conferences (regional societes, IPNA congress, IPNA teaching courses, and local meetings), and by presenting IPNA endorsed guidelines on the IPNA webpage.
4) Contribute to the program of IPNA congresses.

At the IPNA Council Meeting in Venice, Italy, the organization of the Website Committee wasrebranded as the Communications Committee, and the role expanded to include the IPNA
Newsletter and Social Media functions.
