This initiative aims to eliminate preventable deaths from Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) worldwide by 2025.
Saving Young Lives is a partnership between four international nephrology organisations whose major roles are to provide education and training –IPNA, ISN (International Society of Nephrology), ISPD (International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis), Euro PD – and a fifth, SKCF (Sustainable Kidney Care Foundation), a nonprofit organization whose goal is to make dialysis supplies available in very low resource settings. Together, we are developing sustainable programs for treating acute kidney injury (AKI) in sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia.
Renal Disaster Relief Task Force (RDRTF)
The ISN Renal Disaster Relief Task Force (RDRTF) provides essential medical care to people in the wake of natural disasters. The Task Force consists of a worldwide network of experts in the management of patients with acute renal failure. It was created after the severe earthquake in Armenia in 1988 to provide future renal aid in action wherever needed around the globe. The Task Force works in close collaboration with Médecins sans Frontières.

IPNA supports the World Kidney Day. IPNA wants to promote education and screening in children with kidney diseases all over the world. Kidney Day is a wonderful opportunity to achieve this goal.
Each year, IPNA organises a contest to encourage such an action by providing USD 5,000 to one pediatric nephrology center from a developing country throughout the World.
