The 13th International Workshop on Developmental Nephrology (IWDN) features cutting-edge developments in cell fate, cell differentiation and morphogenesis as they relate to normal and malformed kidney and lower urinary development. IWDN connects basic scientists, clinician scientists and clinicians and features the work of young investigators as well as established investigators. The topics covered deal with kidney and urogenital development and malformations, kidney regeneration and repair, stem cells, and pediatric kidney disease. This conference brings together pediatric nephrologists who treat children with urogenital malformations, inherited kidney disease, and renal dysplastic conditions, with scientists who are investigating the molecular basis for these conditions and are providing a basic framework for regenerative therapies for kidney disease. Over the past thirty years, this has been a unique meeting in bringing together clinicians and basic scientists working on kidney and urogenital development.
