Evidence-based clinical management in pediatric nephrology:
IPNA Clinical Practice Recommendations

Evidence-based clinical management in pediatric nephrology is a challenging and major goal of our Society. Indeed, most diseases pediatric nephrologists deal with are severe rare diseases requiring optimal management in the face of a limited number of randomized clinical trials. To this end, IPNA has successfully begun a new initiative in 2018 with the aim of developing

“IPNA Clinical Practice Recommendations (IPNA-CPR)”, addressing important global topics in the field of pediatric nephrology. The first IPNA CPR Workshop on steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome took place in Leuven, Belgium on Dec 13 & 14, 2018. This IPNA-CPR is was published in in Pediatric Nephrology in May 2020 and is available as an open access article. Access the article here

It will be translated in various language to facilitate its distribution and use.

The 2nd IPNA CPR project is dedicated to the diagnosis and management of children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome and is currently under preparation.

IPNA Guidelines Workshop

Evidence-based Clinical Management in Pediatric Nephrology, an IPNA Scientific Workshop, is scheduled on March 30-31, 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Dear Colleagues,

We cordially invite you to attend the IPNA workshop “Evidence-based Clinical Management in Pediatric Nephrology”

Evidence-based clinical management in pediatric nephrology is a challenging and major goal of our Society. IPNA has successfully begun a new initiative with the aim of developing “IPNA Clinical Practice Recommendations (IPNA-CPR)”, addressing important global topics in the field of pediatric nephrology. The first IPNA-CPR on steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome will be published soon in Pediatric Nephrology.

CPR-development follows a structured process and there is a great need for information on guideline methodology as expressed by the IPNA Regional Societies. In addition, the awareness of physicians, patients and their families of existing guidelines as well as their implementation is far from optimal.

To address this, the Best Practice and Standards Committee is organizing a scientific workshop solely dedicated to guideline methodology, distribution and implementation.

More than 20 new guidelines will be presented and discussed by international experts. We invite you to actively participate in the scientific program via submission of your abstract(s).

The scientific workshop will be held over 1 and 1/2-days with symposia, invited lectures, free oral presentations, panel discussions, and guided poster walks preceeding the 14th Asian Congress of Pediatric Nephrology. Therefore you can smoothly attend all three events.
